#109 - Judging Things at Face Value

The selfie definitely got us all talking last week and not only did we get some fabulous words about them but also some actual images too, which were all delightful. Thank you so much for linking up to Food For Thought.

#108 Spotlight Post

Spotlight Post
I think many of us will have related to the post shared by Deviant Succubus. Her thoughts on control in relation to the images she shares and faking her confidence levels definitely had me nodding along to many of her points …

And people, there goes a lot of work into faking confidence! You need to wear that mask and you need to wear it well! It is about accentuating the parts of yourself that you like, and hiding those you find terrible. It is about seeming calm and in control, and very much about the way you hold your head up high when walking down the street. But the best way to fake confidence? Posting selfies of yourself! Prompt #109 - Judging things at Face Value

This is a guest prompt from the wonderful Posy Churchgate and as soon as I saw it, I knew it
Floss Asks ...
was something I’d love to open up for discussion. I think there are many ways we could interpret this suggestion, so please do write about whatever the phrase ‘face value’ inspires within you. I have some questions to ponder though should you want them …

Was there a moment or person you took at face value and in hindsight you wish you hadn’t?
Are you a person that can be taken at face value? Or do still waters run deep?

Whether your post is serious, funny or thought-provoking we want to hear what you've got to say. Also, please don't forget that we want your suggestions. If you've got a topic you'd like us to present for Food For Thought then get in touch with either myself or May. We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Mays Says …

I asked May the following question; If you had to (world safety means you must, à la FaceOff the movie) switch faces with anyone in the world who would it be? And why?

If I had to have another face it would always be Twiggy from the 60's. I was slim as a young person – but although I would never desire to be as slim as she was it has to be said, looking like that,  Twiggy was a style icon. And her face – never been another like it.

NB: May and I are looking into changing the link-up days for this meme. We will give you plenty of warning before we go ahead.
