You're right, Meatloaf's statement about what he would do is poorly drafted. He should have said he won't do that, but barring that one exception, he would do anything for love. But it doesn't scan, alas. He's probably counting on the fact that a lawsuit involves a lot of hassle and expense - a very pragmatic approach, really.
